Pointing out that all modern technical tools, such as startups, must be exploited to control and fight the smuggling of goods and currency in the country, Dr. Rouhani stated: in the field of fighting smuggling, we can use the capacity of startups to track, control and coordinate proper measures to be taken in this regard.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Dr. Hasan Rouhani appreciated the efforts of the ministry of the country and head of the headquarters of fighting smuggling of goods and currency on the meeting of the headquarters of fighting smuggling of goods and currency, mentioning: we must pay attention to high costs and accurate use of currency that is obtained with great efforts during this period of sanctions against Iran.

The President also regarded the military and police forces, central bank, judiciary, ministry of information and customs as frontline fighters against smuggling of goods and currency as the front of fight against smuggling of goods and currency and pointed out the tracking and control of export and import of goods in the country, asserting: today, the necessary technical tools for monitoring and controlling in all field exist in the country. However, there might be some defects and lack of coordination in some areas that must be eliminated.

Dr. Rouhani emphasized the completion and establishment of the control system until the end of the Persian year of 98, adding: fighting smuggling must be systematically from the beginning to the end.

The president of Iran pointed out the achieving of the actual price of foreign import products, continuing: today, the cost of foreign goods are available on their manufacturing company’s website. 

Rouhani mentioned the reports presented on imported livestock in the country in the past few months, asserting: in a period and based on rumors related on the export of livestock from the country, the cost of mean increased. Despite the good measures taken on import of livestock, the cost of meat is still not stable.

In the end, Dr. Rouhani explained the importance of X-ray machines in customs of the country and emphasized the elimination of shortages in this regard.

During the meeting, the members of the headquarters of fighting smuggling of goods and currency reviewed the performance of the province encompassing 26 machines in 2019, assessing and finalizing the future goals of the headquarter to fight the smuggling of goods and currency.

In this respect, the most important topic was controlling systems to find an effective solution to reduce smuggling and necessity of passing from manual work and use of human capital and reaching the systematic stage and mechanization of the fight, which was decided to be exploited based on the design and implementation of its infrastructure with the cooperation of relevant organization until the end of the current year.
